In welke steden is het leven het fijnst? Dat onderzoekt Mercer, een van 's werelds grootste HR-bureaus, elk jaar opnieuw in zijn Quality-of-Living-Index. Het bureau vergelijkt 450 steden op basis van indicatoren als zorg, onderwijs, recreatiemogelijkheden, politieke en economische stabiliteit, huizenprijzen, natuur en publieke voorzieningen. Opvallend: Londen, Parijs en New York komen niet in het lijstje voor. Amsterdam uiteraard wel. En met vijf steden in de top 20 is het in Duitsland kennelijk goed toeven.
